We love training puppies (two options)

Option 1: Puppy Academy Board and Train. The pup will stay with me in my home as a member of the family where they will learn how to sleep through the night ASAP, get potty training knocked out, master crate training, and get lots of socialization and manners. This foundation will be critical to a solid foundation that makes puppyhood a breeze!

Option 2: Puppy Academy In-Home. If you have a little more time and patience and would just like some guidance on how to handle all of the things in Option 1; however you would prefer to do it in your home. Option 2 is most certainly for you. We will guide and teach you how to have the best behaved pup in town with the fundamentals to take them into the next section of adulthood right by your side!

What is covered in Puppy Academy Options?

Puppies are the best for training! Think of them much like a child with a clean slate. They typically don't have bad habits instead they have to be shown what we expect from them and how much fun it can be.

This is also the critical time for socialization and enviornmentals! So many people miss this with their dog or puppy and it has to be handled with an older dog making it much more challenging.

Either option will get you potty training, crate training, prevent or stop puppy biting, foundation of basic obedience, superstar manners, and lots of socialization and enviornmentals which is vital for a confident and happy dog!

Why Lost Boy's Puppy Academy for my puppy?

Your pup will not find a better program. They will get constant attention which is absolutely required for a puppy when they are out. Secondly, they will learn how to be alone which is so critical for a dog of any age. We have to prep them for real life and there is not a more fun and positive program than this one! We custom-built it just for puppies to give them the life skills to succeed while being downright spoiled!

What type of training methods are used for puppies?

This is an excellent question! It takes a gentle hand to rule the land... 99% of puppy training will be positive and great efforts are taken to keep training fun and filled with positive associations with training and growing up!

However, they can not start to develop bad habits and behaviors that are not acceptable. It is not fair to not correct a puppy for making a serious infraction. If humans were not involved nature (usually mom) would be making the corrections. This is how young dogs learn what they can and can not do.

We will still prepare the puppy and correct them as nature intended to set them up for success throughout there life. It would be totally unreasonable and unrealistic to not prepare your puppy for both the goods and the bads of the world! They will be taught leash pressure, and e-collar pressure in a fun and positive way. Which will allow them to understand when a poor behavior choice is made and how to self-adjust and make good choices.

We pride ourselves on our puppy results and you will not have to pay for training that lacked both aspects; which allowed for poor behaviors and had you going to another trainer for future problems that should have been taught at the puppy stage. Don't do it. Set your puppy up for the real world and let Lost Boy's K9 show you the way!

Socialization And Real-World Training (Environmentals)

Most people know socialization... quickly it would be safely meeting lots of people, and dogs. When not done properly a puppy could be corrected by another dog and give them a negative outlook around peers. We want to prevent that and the best way to do that is with a pro who knows what to look for and how to give them this experience safely!

Environmentals is everything else! The weird guy with a funny hat or sunglasses, the random noises that happens out in daily life, the recycling truck banging the bins, weird doors that are see-through and move as if by magic. You get the idea. Do not skip environmentals! Take the puppy everywhere! Let them experience as much as absolutely possible while not overwhelming them and most certainly keeping them safe and confident!

We handle all of the above with either option! However, for In-Home you will have to take on the challenge on your own armed with the knowledge we provide(don't worry we will go over every step so you know how to do this successfully). Or send your puppy to us and let us handle it. We love training puppies and puppy or adult; all dogs need and continue to require socialization and environmentals!
